What's the point of this?
I want to know: what makes a good sunset? Because, frankly, I have no idea. Is it a bright orange sun falling below the horizon? Is it brilliant pinks and blues? Or is it something else entirely?
I want to predict when the weather conditions are favorable for a good sunset, but first, I need to define what a good sunset is.
So, I'm asking for your help.
How does this work?
On the voting page, you are presented with photos of two sunsets. Pick the sunset which you prefer. Some general qualities of good sunsets (although your preferences may vary):
- vibrant colors of varying hues (pinks, reds, oranges)
- an imposing sun
- bright clouds
After you select a sunset, your vote is cast and is used to inform an Elo rating system. You can see the rankings on the leaderboard. More images will appear on the leaderboard as they are voted on for the first time.
